Lyon County scored early and made the lead stand as it defeated host Christian County 5-2 Thursday night in a high school softball game.
After the Lady Lyons took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning, Christian County responded with a pair of runs in the bottom of the frame to take the lead. The Lady Colonels had four singles and a walk. Alexis Epps had an RBI single in the inning.
However, the Lady Lyons came back with a pair of runs in the top of the second to take a 3-2 advantage. The visitors pushed the lead to 5-2 with two more runs in the top of the third.
The score stood the remainder of the game.
Chloe Almy had a pair of hits and Alondra Rodriguez had a double to lead the Lady Colonels’ offensive attack.
Christian County slipped to 12-7-1 on the season and is scheduled to play tonight at Union County.
