Final HHS fall ‘Meet the Tigers’ set for Aug. 8

The first of the lasts for Hopkinsville High School sports officially begins August 8 when the school has its final Hoptown “Meet The Tigers” night at 5:30 p.m. at the Stadium of Champions.

Hopkinsville High School Athletic Director Jacob Ezell was a guest of the Early Bird Show on Tuesday and said the event would highlight all the fall sports teams before the Tigers’ football scrimmage with defending Class 4-A state champion Paducah Tilghman and Clarksville Northeast, which is coached by former Hoptown player Deonte Weston.

Hopkinsville and Christian County high schools are scheduled to consolidate into the Christian County High School Tigers for the 2026-27 season.

Ezell said any former Hoptown Tigers’ fall sports alumni who want to be recognized at “Meet the Tigers” should contact him.

Ezell said plans already are being made for the last Christian County-Hoptown football game on Oct. 24. He said several former Hoptown legends will be the captains for the game.
