Former HHS pitcher McGee optioned to Nashville

After his fourth short stint of the season with the Milwaukee Brewers, former Hopkinsville High School pitcher Easton McGee was optioned back to the Triple-A Nashville Sounds on Thursday night.

McGee, a 6-foot-7 right-handed pitcher, has pitched in seven games this season for the Brewers and has a 7.36 ERA. He has 10 strikeouts and walked five while giving up 12 hits in 11 innings of work.

The former Tigers star threw three innings for the Sounds in Friday night’s 4-1 loss to the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp. He allowed an unearned run and struck out five while allowing only two hits.
