Heritage Christian runners qualify for state cross country meet

Heritage Christian Academy’s cross country team has advanced to the KHSAA Class 1-A State Cross Country Meet this weekend in Lexington.

The Warriors took fifth place with 115 points at the Class 1-A, Region 1 Cross Country Meet Saturday at Logan County High School.

Aaron Hensley finished 9th with a time of 18:50 to lead HCA. Teammate Cadyn Travis was 14th in 19:34.

Ben Hensley took 27th overall with a time of 20:38.

All-District 8 and All-Region 2 soccer player Kallan Davis ran his first cross country race of the season and finished 34th with a time of 21:29.

The Warriors also were represented by John Spurling (38th, 21:38), Ryan Goforth (44th, 23:28), and Jerry Spurling (45th, 23:25).

The Warriors will run Saturday at the KHSAA Class 1-A State Cross Country Meet at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington at 2 p.m.
