The Hoptown Hoppers and Henderson Flash will clash tonight in a doubleheader with first place in the Ohio Valley League on the line.
The Hoppers rallied for a 9-5 win over Madisonville Tuesday night while the Flash won for the fourth straight game, 14-10, over Fulton Tuesday.
Henderson leads Hoptown by a game-and-a-half entering today’s matchup. The two teams split a doubleheader in Henderson last week.
On Tuesday, Jordan Akins went 4-for-6, including a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning that gave the Hoppers a 6-5 lead.
Hudson Hamilton pitched six scoreless innings in relief and only allowed three hits.
Hoptown had 14 hits with Evan Jacob, Brennen Gibson, and Brady Leonard also collecting multiple hits. The Hoppers also stole five bases on the night.
Madisonville jumped to a 5-2 lead after two innings before Hoptown rallied with seven unanswered runs.
Tonight’s first seven-inning game is scheduled to start at 5 p.m. with airtime at 4:45 p.m on 95.3 The Farm and 953thefarm.com. The second seven-inning game will begin 30 minutes following the first game. Ann Isom and the Pink Ribbon Network will be honored between the games.
