Hoptown female wrestlers place 19th at region tourney

The Hopkinsville High School girls’ wrestling program came to an end on Saturday at the Region 1 Meet at Union County High School.

Isabell Walker was the top finisher for the Lady Tigers, as she took sixth place in the 114-pound division. One of her victories came 10-7 over a fifth-place finisher at the 2025 KHSAA State Tournament. Walker rallied from a 7-0 deficit to earn the win.

Rheanna Walker finished 2-2 with one pin and Emma DeArmond and Trinitee Lopez each hear a victory in the region meet.

“I will continue to say that I am very proud of the girls,” Head Coach Dison Myers said. “I am very excited for when they get to compete as one team next year. The girls are already saying they are ready for next season.”

John Hardin won the team title with 170 points, followed by North Hardin with 157.5 points. Fort Campbell was sixth with 96 points. Trigg County finished eighth with 77.5 points, followed by Caldwell County with 77.

Hopkinsville was 19th as a team with 24 points.
