Several Hopkinsville High School track athletes received postseason awards over the weekend.
Keyshun Teal earned a pair of Kentucky Track and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Area 1 Overall Team honors in the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles while the Tigers’ Jaylen Ray also drew honors in the long jump.
The Lady Tigers were represented by Alexis Herrera-Lovato (800-meter run), Lauren Mayes (3,200-meter run), and Leaunna Wilkerson (100-meter hurdles).
Tigers’ Head Coach Jessica Caudill was named Class 2-A, Area 1 Boys’ Coach of the Year after leading Hoptown to its first ever Region 1 title in their final season.
Teal and Kayden Humphrey made the All-Area 1 Class 2-A Team in the 110-meter hurdles.
Willie Ennels and James Bradley Jr., were honored for their performances in the 100-meter dash.
Other Tigers earning a spot on the team included Jayon Bass (400-meter dash), Teal, Humphrey and Carlos Jones (300-meter hurdles), Savior Davis and LaMareon Jeffers (800-meter run), Ennels and Ray (200-meter dash), Tyson Cavinder (3,200-meter run), Ray and Ennels (Long Jump), Mychael Pulley and Ray (Triple Jump), and Pulley (High Jump).
The boys’ 200-meter relay team, 400-meter relay team, 100-meter relay team, and 800-meter relay team also earned All-Area 1 Class 2-A Team honors.
For the Lady Tigers, Wilkerson (100-meter hurdles), Mayes (1,600-meter run), and Alanni Quarles and Grace Cansler (400-meter dash) earned a spot on the team.
Other Lady Tigers earning Class 2-A, All-Region 1 honors included Wilkerson (300-meter hurdles), Herrera-Lovato (800-meter run), Quarles (200-meter dash), Mayes (3,200-meter run), Amani Jones (Discus), and Heaven McCollough (High Jump).
The Lady Tigers also saw their 200-meter relay team, 100-meter relay team, 400-meter relay team recognized.
The 2026 season was the last in the school history for Hopkinsville, which will consolidate with Christian County High School in the 2027 season.
