Hopkinsville High School’s Evangeline Freeman qualified for the Kentucky High School Athletic Association’s State Archery Tournament with a sixth-place finish in the Region 1 Girls’ Archery Tournament Saturday at Trigg County High School.
Freeman shot a team-high 283 to finish five points from the top spot, which went to Henderson County’s DixiAnn Nurrenburn.
Luanna Acree shot a 278 to take 14th in the tournament. Allison Buckner was 15th with a 276 and helped the Lady Tigers finish fifth overall.
Henderson County won the team title with 1,943 points, followed by Webster County (1,933), and Madisonville-North Hopkins (1,917). Todd County Central was fourth with 1,904 points and Hopkinsville had 1,878 points.
Other Lady Tigers competing in the region tournament included Aubrey Moore (270), Katelynn Agosto (261), Hayden Jones (255), Ameerah Acree (255), Tara Hensley (253), and Peyton Denton (232).
