The highly anticipated Jazz On Stage series is back, transforming the historic Alhambra Theater into a
vibrant jazz club for three unforgettable shows. With two show times per event, audiences will
experience sensational performances in an elegant and comfortable setting, renowned for its perfect
acoustics and impeccable sightlines. Tickets range from $35-$50 each.
Christian Tamburr is an internationally renowned vibraphonist, pianist, composer and arranger with
touring and performances in over 67 countries around the world. He leads the critically acclaimed
Christian Tamburr Quintet. Christian has been responsible for the opening of multiple headline
production shows around the world. He has collaborated with the Pennyroyal Arts Council and
handpicked top-tier jazz artists for an unforgettable series of Jazz On Stage at The Alhambra Theatre.
The season kicks off with “The First Time Ever I Heard Your Voice”, a tribute to the incredible music of
Roberta Flack and Al Jarreau. This special event features the talents of Clint Holmes, Niki Haris, Keith
Ganz, and the Christian Tamburr Trio. The 6-piece band, including male and female vocals, guitar, keys,
bass, and drums, will bring timeless hits to life, such as Roberta Flack’s “Killing Me Softly,” “The Closer I
Get to You,” and “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face,” alongside Al Jarreau’s joyful “Roof Garden,” “Get
Your Boogie Down,” and “After All.” Join us for an evening celebrating their contributions to American
music on Thursday, October 24th, with showings at 6pm and 8pm.
The second installment of the Jazz On Stage Series, ”In the Still of the Night”, features the talented
Sachal Vasandani, accompanied by pianist/arranger Christian Tamburr, Jonathan Estes on bass, and Stix
Finnie on drums. They will perform beloved Cole Porter classics such as “Night and Day,” “I’ve Got You
Under My Skin,” and hits from Porter’s Tony award-winning compositions like Kiss Me Kate, Anything
Goes, and Can-Can. Sachal Vasandani’s deeply creative approach to improvisation and his soulful delivery
make him one of the eminent vocal improvisers of his generation. Experience the magic on Thursday,
November 21st, with performances at 6pm and 8pm.
Don’t miss the incredible Shana Tucker as she brings her innovative blend of jazz, soul, acoustic pop, and
folk music to the stage in “Chamber Soul, Jazz & Blues”. Known for her creativity, artistry, and clever
storytelling, Shana Tucker’s unique genre, ChamberSoul, captivates audiences with its harmonious blend
of sonic bliss. Accompanied by the Christian Tamburr Trio, this special concert will feature classics like
Stevie Wonder’s “Overjoyed,” and Sade’s “Kiss of Life.” Join us on Sunday, February 23rd, for two sets: a
matinee at 3pm and an evening show at 6pm. Whether you prefer an afternoon of soulful melodies or
an evening of musical delight, this event promises a timeless and contemporary experience.
