The Hopkinsville Tigers and Christian County Colonels track teams competed in the prestigious Invitational of the South meet Friday and Saturday at Marshall County High School.
Treston Kay led the Tigers by winning the Triple Jump with a leap of 42-feet, 1-inch. The senior also was fifth in the Long Jump with a leap of 19-feet, 7 inches.
Keyshun Teal picked up a pair of silver medals in the 110-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles.
Teal ran the 110 hurdles in 15.41 seconds, edging teammate Elijah Reid, who finished third in 15.5 seconds. Hoptown’s Kayden Humphrey was ninth in 18.92 seconds.
In the 300 hurdles, Teal crossed the finish line in 42.80 seconds.
The Tigers’ 400-meter relay team finished fifth in 9:07.34 while the 100-meter relay team was sixth in 45.79 seconds and ninth in the 200-meter relays in 1:36.07.
Hoptown’s Savior Davis earned a seventh-place finish in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:09.05
James Bradley Jr., earned a 10th-place finish in the high jump with a leap of 5-feet, 6-inches.
For the Lady Tigers, Lauren Mayes earned a third-place finish in the 3,200-meter run in a time of 12:22.41.
Alexis Herrerra-Lovato was third in the 800-meter run in 2:37.78 and Grace Cansler finished fourth in the 400-meter dash.
Cansler also took seventh in the 100-meter dash.
The Lady Tigers’ 400-meter relay team was sixth in a time of 5:00.68. The 200-meter relay team was ninth in 1:59.07 and the 100-meter relay team took 10th in 57.31 seconds.
