The Christian County Lady Colonels held visiting Kenwood to only 18 second-half points and pulled away for a 68-47 girls’ high school basketball win Friday night in Lyle Dunbar Gym.
Kenwood was able to score just before the second-quarter buzzer to take a 29-27 lead into halftime.
However, the Lady Colonels (1-0) outscored the Lady Knights (1-4) 21-11 in the third quarter and 20-7 in the fourth period to take the win.
Anaysia Bagwell scored 16 of her game-high 23 points in the second half to lead Christian County. Carliah Hobson scored 15 points despite battling foul trouble.
The Lady Colonels recognized their alumni between the girls’ and boys’ games.
Christian County returns to action Monday night at home in a girls’/boys’ doubleheader against Madisonville-North Hopkins. Airtime is 5:45 p.m. on 95.3 The Farm and 953thefarm.com.
