Lady Cols open Region 2 tournament play tonight

The Girls’ Region 2 Basketball Tournament gets underway tonight at Hopkins County Central High School.

Crittenden County (24-5) plays Webster County (12-18) at 6 p.m. The second game will begin at 7:30 p.m. and feature Christian County (14-9) against Caldwell County (14-12).

The Lady Colonels defeated the Lady Tigers 57-52 in Princeton on Feb. 6.

A win would advance Christian County to the 6 p.m. semifinals on Friday while a loss would not only end their season, but also the Lady Colonels’ program. Christian County is consolidating with Hopkinsville to make the Christian County Lady Tigers in the 2026-27 season.

Tonight’s game will air around 7:15 p.m. on 95.3 The Farm and 953thefarm.com.

On Tuesday night, Hopkins County Central (19-11) will play Hopkinsville (2-18) in the first game at 6 p.m., followed by Henderson County (21-9) against Lyon County (25-7) at 7:30 p.m.

Hopkins Central defeated Hopkinsville 74-25 in their only meeting this season.

The game will air at 5:45 p.m. on 99.3 FM and 1230 AM WHOP.

The semifinals are scheduled for 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Friday and the championship is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday at Hopkins County Central High School.
