The Bowling Green Purples came from 12 points behind to take a 66-61 boys’ high school basketball win over host Christian County Tuesday night.
The Colonels led 34-24 at halftime and had extended the lead to 12 early in the third quarter. However, Anthony Davis’ jumper in the lane as time expired in the third quarter sent Bowling Green into the final frame with a 45-43 advantage.
The two teams traded leads several times in the fourth quarter but the Purples’ Christian Muhire scored on a layup and Braylon Anderson sealed the win with two late free throws.
Rahsean Stevenson led the Colonels with 23 points. Muhire and Anderson each had 17 to pace the Purples, who stretched their win streak over the Colonels to 12 games.
Christian County slips to 2-3 on the season while Bowling Green improves to 3-2. The Colonels are back in action Thursday night at Todd County Central. The White’s Auto Mall/West Kentucky Fellowship of Christian Athletes pregame show will air at 7:15 p.m. on 95.3 the Farm and 953thefarm.com.
