Heritage Christian Academy dropped its fourth straight high school baseball game as visiting Russellville held off the Warriors 7-4 Thursday night in a game called after five innings due to darkness.
The Panthers used a single, three walks, and a pair of Warriors’ errors in the top of the first to take a 3-0 lead.
Russellville led 4-0 entering the bottom of the third when HCA was able to cut the lead in half. Tycen Wells doubled to score Collin Outland and Henry Bullard.
However, the Panthers (3-3) answered with three runs in the top of the fourth to push the lead to 7-2.
The Warriors made it 7-4 in the bottom of the fourth inning as Cadyn Travis had a RBI-single and came around to score on an error.
Wells had a double and single and drove in two runs to lead HCA at the plate.
The Warriors, who forfeited Thursday night’s District 8 game to Christian County, fall to 2-6 on the season. The Warriors are scheduled to play at Hopkins County Central at 11 a.m. Saturday.
