Tigers get balanced scoring in rout of Russellville

The Hopkinsville Tigers found their offense and pounded visiting Russellville 8-0 Thursday night in a boys’ high school soccer match at the Stadium of Champions.

Erick Hernandez, Mikel Ramirez, and Robert Elizalde had two goals each to lead the Tigers.

The balanced scoring continued as Cesar Sotelo and Alex Ramirez also scored. Ramirez added two assists and Sotelo, Hernandez, and Lester Macario provided assists.

Landon Beaulieu had a pair of saves in goal for Hoptown, which improved to 5-4-1 on the season.

The Tigers are scheduled to return to action Thursday night against Christian County in the last regular-season soccer match between the two schools before they merge in 2026. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
