Tigers, Lady Tigers earn top-10 finishes at Gatorland invite

The Hopkinsville High School track team went to Bowling Green on Saturday and took part in the Gatorland Invite.

It was another good day for the Tigers’ Keyshun Teal, won the 110-high hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles.

Savior Davis had a personal record and took fifth place in the 800-meter run.

The Tigers’ 100-meter relay team was fifth. The team consists of Tavares Burgess, Thomas Laliberte, Willie Ennels, and Briyden Godfrey.

Other Tigers earning top-10 finishes in the meet included the 200-meter relay team of Kayden Humphrey, Jaylen Ray, Ray Kyrien Cannon, and Ennels (6th), Tyson Cavinder (7th in the 3,200-meter run), Teal (7th with a personal record in Triple Jump), Elijah Reid (8th in Triple Jump), and Ennels (8th in Long Jump with a personal record), and Ray (8th in Long Jump).

The Tigers finished sixth place out of 19 teams.

For the Lady Tigers, who finished 10th, Lauren Mayes led the way with a  fourth-place finish in the 3,200-meter run and a seventh-place finish in the 1,600-meter run with a personal record time.

Kaniya Jackson Grundy earned fifth-place in the 300-meter hurdles, and Alexis Herrerra-Lovato had a personal record time and took sixth in the 800-meter run.

The Lady Tigers’ 400-meter relay team of Heaven McCollough, Jackson Grundy, Alicia Davis and Herrera-Lovato took fourth place.

Other Lady Tigers earning top-10 finishes included Jackson Grundy (7th in the 100-meter hurdles), the 100-meter relay team of Jackson Grundy, Davis, Ollia Dixon, and Leaunna Wilkerson (8th) and the 200-meter relay team of Davis, KaLajsha Rowe, A’Ireona Spikes, and Wilkerson (8th).
