Heritage Christian Academy opened up its 2026 high school baseball season with a 12-9 loss at Trigg County Thursday night.
HCA jumped out to a 6-0 lead through the top of the third inning before the Wildcats rallied to take a 7-6 advantage after four. Trigg added five runs in the bottom of the fifth only to see the Warriors rally for three in the top of the sixth and cut the lead to 12-9.
However, Caden Scott struck out two of the four hitters he faced in the top of the seventh to shut the door on HCA.
Caden Gresham and Caden Hale each had a pair of hits to lead Heritage.
Collin Outland suffered the pitching loss for HCA, which returns to action Saturday morning at home against Webster County.
