University Heights Academy split a baseball doubleheader Saturday in Owensboro.
The No. 8-ranked Blazers (3-1) took on No. 16-ranked Owensboro Catholic in the first game.
Hayden Hunt and Aiden Jones each had a pair of hits for UHA, but a four-run fourth inning by the Aces was too much for the Blazers to overcome in a 5-1 loss.
Hunt suffered the pitching loss, surrendering six walks to go with three strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings of work.
In the second game, the Blazers scored three runs in the top of the seventh and shut down the No. 2-ranked Lyon County Lyons in the bottom of the frame to claim a 9-8 victory.
Hunt had a pair of hits, but the Blazers took advantage of walks and errors to pick up the win.
Cadence Gibson picked up the pitching win, going six innings and striking out eight.
UHA returns to action Tuesday night at Hopkinsville in a District 8 game at Tiger Stadium at 6 p.m. Airtime is 5:45 p.m. on 95.3 The Farm.
