University Heights Academy and Hopkinsville High School will battle for the Girls’ District 8 Soccer Tournament championship tonight at Givens Field.
The Lady Blazers are the top seed and defeated Hopkinsville 7-0 last month in a match also played at UHA’s Givens Field.
After their 8-0 win over Christian County Monday night in the semifinals, Lady Blazers’ coach Michael Parker said he was confident that his team would play well in the championship match.
Hoptown needed overtime Monday night to edge Fort Campbell 3-2.
Lady Tigers coach Jeff Addison said his team would have a tough assignment tonight against the Lady Blazers.
Both teams have qualified for the Region 2 tournament next week at Madisonville-North Hopkins.
UHA is looking to win its third straight district title and Hopkinsville is hoping to win its first district championship since 2021.
The game is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. Tickets are $8 at the gate and are cash only.
