In the boys’ Courier-Journal pre-season basketball rankings, which were released earlier this week, no Region 2 teams made the top 25. However, University Heights Academy junior guard Tylin George was named the No. 28 player in the state by the paper and state’s coaches.
George already has an offer from Middle Tennessee State University and has attracted the attention of James Madison University, among others.
Last year, George averaged 15.1 points and 3.2 rebounds per game. He also shot 48.8 percent from three-point range, connecting on 41 of 84 attempts.
“It’s a reward for his hard work and dedication to improve his game,” UHA coach Terry Hayes told WHOP. “He’s in the gym almost every day by 6 a.m.”
