UHA’s Hunt, Miles sign college baseball letters-of-intent

Two University Heights Academy baseball players signed college letters-of-intent during a ceremony on Friday morning in Blazer Gym in front of the student body, families and friends.

Hayden Hunt, a senior pitcher and shortstop, signed with Indiana State and senior pitcher and infielder Jaiden Miles signed with Tennessee Wesleyan University, an NAIA school in Athens, Tenn.

Hunt committed to the Sycamores last spring after competing at a showcase in Evansville. Indiana State called him on the way home and offered him a visit. He committed after the visit.

Hunt said he was excited to join the Sycamores’ program.

Hunt hit .405 with three home runs, 12 doubles, and had 20 RBI and 20 stolen bases in 20 attempts during the 2025 season.

On the mound, Hunt went 3-3 with a 1.82 ERA and 44 strikeouts.

Meanwhile, Miles said he was excited about the opportunity to continue his baseball career at a program like Tennessee Wesleyan.

Miles, a right-handed pitcher, led the Blazers in strikeouts with 54 while going 4-2 with a 2.21 ERA last season.

At the plate, Miles hit .230 with three home runs and 18 RBI.

Tennessee Wesleyan is off to a 16-5 start and is ranked No. 5 in the NAIA this year.

Blazers’ Head Baseball Coach Michael Crowe said both schools were getting quality players and students.

Both Hunt and Miles said they plan on majoring in business in college.

UHA’s baseball season begins March 16 at home against Franklin-Simpson.
