Warren East picked up a key 4A 1st District win on Saturday afternoon at the Stadium of Champions with a 41 to 32 win over the Hopkinsville Tigers. The Raiders are now 2 and 0 in district play while Hopkinsville falls to o and 2 in the district with 3 district game to go. Turnovers doomed the Tigers on Saturday afternoon as they turned the ball over three times on a muffed punt, a fumble on a kickoff return and an interception late in the contest. If you like offense this would have been a game for you. The Tigers had 531 yards on 79 plays while Warren East had 384 yards on 52 plays.
It was a day for the Tigers on the ground. Hopkinsville rushed for 338 yards. Treston Kay was the leading rusher with 129 yards on 18 carries. Kay scored on rushing touchdown. He had 3 receptions for 45 yards. James Bradley had 9 carries for 96 yards and a touchdown.
QB Aiden King was 13 of 26 with 1 interception for 193 yards and a touchdown. Deavery Ramey led the Tigers in receiving 5 receptions for 77 yards.
For Warren East it was the Dane Parsley show as he carried the ball 14 time for 152 yards and 2 touchdowns. He threw for 186 yards and 4 touchdowns. Brayden Lightfoot had a big day with 4 receptions for 133 yards.
The Tigers fall to 1 and 5 on the season and 0 and 2 in the district.
