The Heritage Christian Academy Warriors are 2025 KCAC Baseball Tournament champions.
Ethan Miles had a bases-clearing triple as part of a five-run seventh inning and rallied the Warriors past Whitefield Christian Academy 8-6 Saturday evening in the title game at David Eddings Field.
HCA (6-12), which had won only three games all year, matched that win total on Saturday.
Due to rain on Friday night, the Warriors opened tournament play at 8 a.m. on Saturday and rallied to a 5-4 win over Somerset Christian. Caden Gresham singled home the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh.
Miles allowed only three hits in 6 2/3 innings and struck out 12 to pick up the pitching win.
In the semifinals, the Warriors scored three runs in the top of the sixth to rally from a 4-2 deficit and beat Highlands Latin 5-4. Gresham provided the winning hit again as he drove home Miles with two out. Miles had reached on a triple.
Miles went 8-for-13 at the plate with six RBI and was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
Collin Outland also made the All-Tournament team for HCA.
The Warriors are back in action today at home against Christian County in a District 8 game set for 5:30 p.m.
