Webster County shuts down Tigers to stay undefeated

Webster County rallied from a double-digit deficit in the first half to defeat the visiting Hopkinsville Tigers 59-47 Tuesday night in a boys’ high school basketball game.

The loss stopped a three-game winning streak for the Tigers, who led 21-13 after one quarter.

However, the Trojans (5-0) outscored Hoptown 18-11 in the second quarter to draw within 32-31 at the halftime break.

Webster held the Tigers to only 15 points in the second half to pull away for the victory.

James Bradley Jr. had 18 points to lead Hopkinsville, which fell to 4-2.

The Tigers go to Lyon County Thursday night for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff with the top team in Region 2. Airtime for the White’s Auto Mall/West Kentucky Fellowship of Christian Athletes pregame show is 7:15 p.m. on Newsradio 99.3 FM and 1230 AM WHOP.
