The United States Army’s 3rd Brigade Combat Team, the “Rakkasans” with the 101st Airborne Division, are returning home from a nine-month deployment from eastern Europe.
According to a news release, approximately 230 soldiers will return from their support of Operation European Assure, Deter and Reinforce, where they have been since April of 2023 following President Biden’s decision at the Madrid Summit to add another brigade combat team in Europe.
Commanding Officer Colonel Ricard Turner says, “After nine months of hard work alongside our partners and allies, I’m excited to see our soldiers come home and reunited with their families. They’ve definitely earned it.”
There will be a welcome home ceremony on Wednesday on Fort Campbell.
