If you are or have a high school student passionate about creating art, Congressman James Comer is now accepting applicants for the 2025 Congressional Art Competition.

The contest is hosted through the U.S. House of Representatives and aims to recognize talented youth throughout Kentucky’s congressional districts.

Artwork entered can be up to 26 inches by 26 inches, up to 4 inches in depth, and cannot weigh more than 15 pounds. Students can submit an array of artwork including painting, drawing, collages, prints, mixed media, computer generated art and photography. And if your artwork is selected as the winner, it must arrive framed.

The winning artwork will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol building, and the second place winner’s artwork will be displayed at Congressman Comer’s office for the year. In addition to winning first, the individual will also receive an invitation to attend the reception in Washington, D.C., during the summer.

Comer says after seeing the artwork submitted to his office, it’s clear to him that Kentucky is not short of talent in the 1st Congressional District. He adds, this is a great opportunity to showcase your talent and he looks forward to seeing all the submitted works.

All artwork entries are due Monday, April 21, and can be mailed to or dropped off at Congressman Comer’s District Offices. For more information on the contest and dropoff location, you can visit comer.house.gov/art-competition.
