To celebrate Fourth of July, Fort Campbell is hosting a concert featuring rapper Ludacris and pop band Echosmith along with carnival rides, fireworks and much more for this year’s Fourth of July Fest.
Regina Maloney, the marketing director for Fort Campbell’s Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) shared that the festivities kick-off at 1 p.m. on July 4 with carnival rides and food vendors.
Later in the evening the 101st Army Rock Band takes to the Division Parade Field stage at 6 p.m., followed by Echosmith at 7 p.m. and Ludacris, the festival’s headlining act, takes to the stage at 8:30 p.m. and his performance will conclude with a firework show.
Maloney says they invited Ludacris to perform after MWR received results from a survey asking Fort Campbell residents what type of music acts they would want to see at this year’s festival. Maloney says they had a huge response asking for a hip-hop or R&B artist.
Following the COVID-19 pandemic, Maloney shared that they struggled to find a company that could operate carnival rides for the festival, so she is happy to have rides back after nearly four years without them and knows that the attendees will be happy too.
This year’s festival will also be open to those who aren’t military connected. Maloney says those who are not service connected can attend, by entering Fort Campbell through Gate Seven and bringing their vehicle registration, proof of insurance and valid photo I.D. for those 16 years and older.
Fort Campbell’s Fourth of July Fest is free to attend and kicks off at 1 p.m. at the Division Parade Field and concludes at midnight. On July 2 and July 3 carnival rides and fair food eats will be open from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and from July 4 to July 6 the festival will be open from 1 p.m. to midnight.
