The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has extended a closure of KY 272 in Trigg County through Friday to address sinkhole repairs.
The Trigg County Highway Maintenance Crew had to close KY 272 near the 5.5-mile point where a sinkhole extended under the roadway. This closure is along KY 272 between Cliffwood Drive and Glenwood Mill Road.
The hope had been to complete the repairs within the day, but due to the extent of repairs required at the site, the roadway will remain closed through Friday, and that could extend possibly longer.
There is no marked detour, however, motorists may self-detour around this closure via KY 1585 to U.S. 68, or via Hardy Road, New Hope Road and KY 139.
