Kentucky State Police are investigating the death of a man in Trigg County just after midnight Saturday on Linda Lane.
According to a news release, preliminary investigation revealed that a male subject had entered the home on Linda Lane while armed with a weapon. He reportedly forced his way into the residence, which is when he was shot by the homeowner. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
No further details were immediately available—this is an ongoing investigation, with KSP believing it to be an isolated incident with no danger to the public.
The Trigg County Sheriff’s Department originally responded to the scene and called for KSP to conduct the investigation.
