Starting Friday there will be lane restrictions down one mile of the Pennyrile Parkway in Hopkins County near Mannington, as the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet continues to work on upgrading the existing parkway to interstate standards.
The restriction of the southbound lanes of the Pennyrile Parkway will last through October 9 from the Mannington off ramp to just pass the northbound on ramp overpass. Motorists should be aware there will also be a 55 miles per hour speed limit in place through this area.
Motorists are recommended to detour via I-69 southbound to I-24 eastbound, or by following U.S. 41.
