City of Hopkinsville set to host town hall events in October

The City of Hopkinsville is gearing up to hear from the citizens, as they’ll be hosting town hall meetings in the month of October.

City Public Information Officer Amanda Brunt appeared on WHOP recently and says they’re eager to hear from the public about their wants for the future of the city, note down any concerns they may have and answer as many questions as they can. She says these town halls will allow for a much more open communication with citizens, while also keeping the people informed.

The first one will take place October 1 at the Kenneth Bates Community Center at 5 p.m. and the second is currently set for October 28 at 6 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club.

Brunt says they’ll also discuss a variety of topics and city initiatives that they feel is often misunderstood, such as the Lot Next Door program, the Landbank Authority, Hopkinsville Fire Department and EMS services, and more. She says groups such as the Lincoln Real Estate Group are making big investments in Hopkinsville and they’ll talk about that impact as well.
