It’s almost time for eager trick-or-treaters to take to the streets in the search for candy, and downtown Hopkinsville will be filled to the brim with little ghosts and goblins for the family trick-or-treating event.
Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation Superintendent Toby Hudson says the fun gets underway promptly at 3:30 p.m. Thursday—Halloween—and Main Street will be lined with booths and businesses with plenty of candy to go around.
Hudson says Downtown Trick-or-Treating is wildly popular, often bringing thousands to Main Street.
Children from walking age to 12 years old are welcome to bring buckets and bags to collect candy, and this year’s event also features a new “No-Scare Square” hosted by the Pennyroyal Center. The family-friendly space is designed for those who may find crowds or standard Halloween activities overwhelming to still enjoy the festivities.
There could be rain in the forecast for Thursday, so stay tuned to the Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation Facebook page for any updates.
