A Greenville man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Hopkinsville Road in Hopkins County early Monday morning.
According to the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department, the crash happened just after midnight on Hopkinsville Road near the intersection of Rutter Avenue on the northside of Earlington, and when the call came in, the callers were unable to locate the driver of the motorcycle. Shortly after emergency services arrived, they were able to locate 32-year-old Zachary Lanham of Greenville, who was declared deceased at the scene by the Hopkins County Coroner.
Investigation determined that Lanham was operating a motorcycle southbound on Hopkinsville Road when he failed to navigate a curve and struck a guardrail. The collision caused him to leave the roadway.
The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Hopkins County Coroner’s Office, the Madisonville Police Department, Earlington Volunteer Fire Department and Med Center Ambulance Services.
