Election Day has arrived, and if you didn’t case your ballot during any of the early voting options, then today is your day to make your voice heard.
And voting was off to a strong start in Christian County, with County Clerk Melinda Humphries saying they’re seeing good turnout so far, with some polling locations reporting lines that are moving quick. Humphries says aside from the usual early morning hiccups, so far, things are running smoothly, and she reminded that these ballots are front and back, so check both sides.
She says if you pull up to a polling place and see lines, don’t get to discouraged—if you don’t want to wait there, there are 13 voting locations across the county today.
Those locations include the Bruce Convention Center, Walnut Street Center, Senior Citizens Center, the County Courthouse, Indian Hills Elementary School, Sinking Fork Baptist Church, Pembroke Baptist Church, the Crofton Tornado Building, New Palestine Baptist Church, New Barren Springs Baptist Church, South Christian Elementary School, the Oak Grove Community Center and Inspire Early Learning Academy.
In Todd County, those voting locations are North Todd Elementary School, the Todd County Courthouse, Todd County Middle School, the Sharon Grove Fire Department, Clifty Fire Department, Todd County High School, the Trenton Fire Department, Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, the Guthrie Fire Department and the Allegre Volunteer Fire Department.
In Trigg County, the locations are the Emergency Operations Center, The Way, the Trigg County Recreation Complex, South Road Fire Department, East Golden Pond Fire Department, the Trigg-Lyon Fire Department and Cerulean Baptist Church.
Humphries says she’s feeling hopeful that voting turnout will be way up during this election, saying early voting was a good indicator it might be.
