Cinis Fertilizer has announced they will be locating to Christian County in the near future—bringing with it an investment of $109.2 million into a production plant that will create 65 new jobs in the area.
This project comes as part of an agreement to recycle waste from Ascend Elements, and the facility will be located at 200 Recharge Boulevard in Hopkinsville. Construction is set to being in mid-2025, and the facility will recycle waste salt from battery production from Ascend to produce low-carbon fertilizer.
New jobs created at the facility will include, among others, process operators, warehouse personnel, process engineers and general administration. Cinis Fertilizer is a Sweden-based producer of green fertilizer, and the company’s patent-protected technology uses half as much energy as today’s dominant production method.
Both Hopkinsville Mayor J.R. Knight and County Judge-Executive Jerry Gilliam thanked the company for their commitment to the region and welcomed them to the community.
This development will be a part of Commerce Park II.
