The Kentucky Agricultural Development Fund approved over $200,000 in settlement funds to be sent to Todd County.
The funding was agreed upon during the 2024 legislature Tobacco Settlement Agreement Fund Oversight Committee and provides producers’ financial assistants with practices that will improve or diversify their current operations.
Representative Jason Petrie says he is pleased to report on the funding approval from the KADF and is looking forward to seeing how the funds will benefit agriculture in the county.
The funding was a result from the 1998 Tobacco Master Settlement Agreement Agreement, which created guidelines for the distribution and investment of four major tobacco products manufactures and 46 states.
