Warmer temperatures brings rain chances this week

It’s going to majorly warm-up this week compared to last week’s sub-zero wind chills, but that does bring with it a good chance for rain in the later half of the week.

That’s according to Lead Forecaster Keith Cooley with the National Weather Service in Paducah, who says that temperatures might even touch the 60’s by Friday, which is a welcome change compared to recent freezing temperatures.

However, that does bring with it a pretty good chance for rain starting on Wednesday and sticking around through Friday, and they’re not expecting any flooding issues to arise from that at this time.

Cooley says they’re also not expecting any severe weather at this time.

In the 8-to-14-day outlook it’s looking like more of the same—there are trends in the data for higher-than-average temperatures and above average chances for precipitation.  So it may feel like the first hints of spring—but don’t get your hopes up too high that winter is done just yet.
