Hopkinsville Police arrested 37-year-old Evan Deloach and 40-year-old Rebecca Mathis both of Cadiz for drug trafficking following a traffic stop on Sunday.
According to a report, an officer witnessed Deloach and Mathis not properly wearing seat belts in a car on Fort Campbell Boulevard. After performing a traffic stop on the pair’s car, Deloach reportedly agreed to let officers conduct a search.
Law enforcement reportedly found a firearm on Deloach and then narcotics and drug paraphernalia in the car. A bag with white powder, fentanyl test kits, several phones, Narcan and cash were allegedly uncovered.
Deloach and Mathis were charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, using restricted ammunition, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to wear seat belts. Deloach was additionally charged with operating a vehicle with an expired license and possession of marijuana.
