Suspect killed in officer-involved shooting in Lyon County

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Department deputy was involved a shooting-incident early Monday morning where a Marshall County shooting suspect was killed.

According to a news release, Kentucky State Police have been called to investigate after a confrontation between the Lyon County Sheriff’s Deputy and a suspect became violent. The suspect, who has not yet been identified, was in a vehicle on U.S. 62 just after midnight after allegedly fleeing from a shooting incident in Marshall County. 

The suspect’s vehicle stopped at Huck’s Travel Center in Kuttawa a short time later, where the driver and the deputy reportedly become involved in a ‘deadly force incident’.

The deputy was not injured, however, the suspect was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Lyon County Coroner. 

There is no further threat to the public.
