Agriculture development projects have been given the green light, during the Kentucky Agriculture Development meeting.
At their monthly meeting, board members approved more than $2.1 million for projects to diversify farming operations across the state.
Hopkinsville Elevator Company was approved for up to $300,000 to develop railroad accessibility.
In a news release from the Kentucky Department of Agriculture, Commission Jonathan Shell says creating diversity in agriculture keeps the industry strong for producers, and these projects will sustain a prosperous future ahead.
The remainder of the $2.1 million was distributed through the County Agricultural Incentives Program, Deceased Farm Animal Removal Program, Shared-Use Equipment Program and Youth Agricultural Incentives Program.
