KCTCS recognizes National Community College Month

April is National Community College Month and the Kentucky Community and Technical College System is celebrating and recognizing some of their recent achievements.

KCTCS has 16 colleges and more than 70 campuses across the state. Since being established by the Kentucky General Assembly in 1998, around 1.2 million Kentuckians have attended KCTCS institutions.

According to a news release, during the 2023-2024 academic year, KCTCS institutions awarded 42,910 credentials to 22,645 graduates which are both record breaking numbers.

During the 2025 Kentucky General Assembly lawmakers passed a resolution naming April 4 “Going Pro Day.” The day spotlights students achieving their career goals after graduating from a KCTCS institution. During the month there will be career contract signing events at all KCTCS schools.

From April 14 through April 18 is dual credit week and April 16 is Giving Day and folks are invited to donate to scholarships for community college students.

During the month Hopkinsville Community College will host Pathfinder Days on April 14 and April 23 to help students enroll in classes. Then on April 26 the college is hosting a Family Fest and Color Run. The run starts at noon, and before it gets underway, folks can learn about the academic programs and services available at the college.
