Our very warm spring weather will stick with us this week, with periods of both sunny skies and rain chances in store.
Forecaster Rachel Trevino with the National Weather Service in Paducah says things will be fairly dry before rain chances return Wednesday, with our greatest chances for rain and some rumbles of thunder set for Friday with the passage of a cold front—though nothing severe is in the forecast at this time.
In the long range outlook, our above average temperatures will continue, as will our above average chances for rain—and Trevino says there is some data showing a return of severe weather in the first week of May, but the details on that remain to be seen.
The good news is, any rain that does fall will be light, so it shouldn’t impact any flooding conditions that remain. Temperatures will feel downright warm at times this week, with the mid-80’s certainly possible before the cold front moves in later on.
