After closing the 2025 Kentucky General Assembly, Representative Myron Dossett visited the Christian County Agri-Business Association’s Tuesday meeting to talk about the House Agriculture Committee.

Dossett kicked off the meeting with a discussion of what’s to come during the interim. He says he plans to review property rights and protections to ensure fair compensation for agricultural land, foster better connections with agriculture extension offices to improve youth development and use existing tax incentives to guarantee farm land stays in production.

He adds that his relationship with the current commissioner of agriculture, Jonathan Shell, has provided valuable insight into the agriculture economic development movement. Dossett says he will provide Shell and the Department of Agriculture with support in the House of Representatives with the discussion of business opportunities that pass through the cabinet.

During the meeting, Dossett spoke about his role in Kentucky legislation, sharing that his passion began in childhood and deepened through his extensive experience in agriculture and business in Christian County. He thanked members of the Agri-Business Association for supporting his journey in the House.

Dossett closed out his remarks by thanking the community and shared that he is looking forward to the next legislative session.
