FEMA offers support to farmers affected by severe storms

Kentucky farmers and ranch hands may be eligible for disaster assistance if they faced equipment damage during the February and April severe storms.

Following the extreme weather the state faced earlier in the year, FEMA is offering farmers and farmhands whose tools or equipment were damaged assistance in replacing the essential tools required for employment.

Along with the coverage of tools, FEMA has opened a Disaster Recovery Center in Christian County to support those who have experienced property damage as a result of the April flooding.

The new recovery center offers in-person support at the Murray State University campus on Fort Campbell Boulevard from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

At the recovery center, FEMA representatives will be available to discuss assistance programs available, how to apply for disaster assistance and connect survivors with their recovery needs.
