Governor Andy Beshear is calling for flags to be lowered at half-staff for Friday, in honor of a Kentucky soldier and marine being laid to rest in Hopkinsville.
According to a news release from the Governor’s Office, both service-members passed away in May while serving active-duty. They are United States Army Private First Class 34-year-old Tyler Ray of Louisville, who was assigned to Company C, 2nd Battalion, 504th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division out of Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

The other is U.S. Marine Corps Lance Corporal Joshua Guzman-Henao of Clarksville, who was station a Camp Lejuene in Jacksonville, North Carolina.
Funeral services for Guzman-Henao will take place at the Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home in Hopkinsville on Friday, with interment to follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West.
The governor is asking that all individuals, businesses, organizations and government agencies join in the tribute to these fallen heroes.
