Sports can serve as a learning experiences in numerous ways to many children—and a local student is working to make sure as many kids can take part in sports as possible.
Evelyn Bangart is a Hopkinsville High School student and sports is part of her life in a big way, as she takes part in cross country, swimming and tennis, which makes for a very busy schedule. But she’s taking the time to help raise money, alongside the YMCA of Hopkinsville, to make sure that local children who maybe can’t afford the fees that come along with sports, won’t have to stop at that hurdle.
The Team Up for Kids Vendor event will take place this Saturday, August 9, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. alongside the YMCA’s Activities Day, and Bangart says they’ll have 20 vendors on hand where people can shop and help support the cause.
It will take place at the YMCA at 7805 Eagle Way Bypass in Hopkinsville, and along with the vendor fair, a Field Day for those ages five years old and up can participate in games, draw some chalk art and grab a bite to eat from food trucks and beverage vendors.
