A familiar face to the political sphere in Trigg County is once again throwing his hat in the ring to try and be Trigg County’s next Sheriff.
Mike Sandbrink made a run for Trigg County Sheriff in 2022, and he was among four write-in candidates against current Trigg County Sheriff Aaron Acree. Acree would ultimately win that election to serve a full term, but now Sandbrink has announced his intention to run once again.
In a statement, Sandbrink—who is currently a Major at the Christian County Jail—says, “I’m incredibly excited to announce my candidacy for Trigg County Sheriff. This is more than just a campaign, this is a commitment to serve, protect, and stand up for the values that matter most to our community. With integrity, transparency, and a deep respect for the people I serve, I’m ready to lead with purpose and make a real difference in Trigg County.”
He brings roughly 27 years of law enforcement experience to the table.
It’s likely that Sandbrink and Acree will face off once again on the ballot in 2026, though no official announcement has been made by Acree at this time.
