Hopkinsville Electric System will be conducting a planned power outage for portions of the city Tuesday, to allow for the replacement of a utility pole.
According to HES, the outage will begin at 8 p.m. Tuesday night, with operations to replace the utility pole that was damaged in a vehicular accident expected to take roughly four hours. The affected area includes a portion of Canton Street from Faulkner Street to just past West 16th Street.
Costumers on Cypress Street, Phelps Avenue, Stewart Street, West 17th Street, West 16th Street, Tennessee Street and portions of High Street and Richard Street will be affected.
Officials apologize for the interruption in service, saying crews will work to finish repairs as quickly, while safely, as possible, saying this is necessary to ensure long-term power reliability.
