Veterans of Foreign War Post 1913 are hosting a September 11 Remembrance Ceremony on Saturday, and they’re inviting the community to attend to honor those lives that were lost on that tragic day in 2001.
They’ll host a short service at 11 a.m. at the VFW’s location off of Skyline Drive, with an open house to follow, where there will be food and prizes for visitors. The open house goes until 5 p.m. where folks can get a tour of the facility and see the improvements that have been made there.
Nearly 3,000 people were killed in New York, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania on that day in 2001 and VFW Post 1913 Commander John Brame says it’s important to never forget the loss of life, both then and in the war that followed.
