Wednesday morning brought a slate of Kentucky State Police detectives to the stand in the double-murder case against Bobby Spikes.
They testified to the extent of their investigation, particularly into the vehicle that was found on Cerulean Road that contained the body of Candance Marcel in December of 2021. Spikes is accused of killing Marcel and Stanley Bussell, and then leaving Marcel in the vehicle in Trigg County.
Detective Trevor Pervine says the evidence was plain that Marcel’s death was not a suicide.
They did a thorough search of the vehicle and found numerous items inside, including the magazine to a .41 caliber gun. When asked about if they did any testing on that magazine, Detective Pervine said they didn’t, because this gun was a different caliber than the one that was used in the shooting.
Spikes is charged with two counts of murder, two counts of first-degree robbery, kidnapping tampering with physical evidence and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
